The Book of the Covenant
God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Yet, it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, they took them wives of all which they chose.
And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man.
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And said, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
And God said, Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. And I will establish my covenant with you.
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee. For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it. And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed; also the good of all the land of Egypt is yours. And I will give unto thee all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession.
I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee. For as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. Also I have given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else.
Thou, O Lord, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. And I will take thee, and thou shalt reign according to all that thy soul desireth, and shalt be king over Israel. That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth. And thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. And in thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season: as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed; and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the Lord. All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.
Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn. And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.
Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings: And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.
Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be cut off.
And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: and there shall be one Lord, and his name one.
He sealeth up the hand of every man;
that all men may know his work.
For all seek their own, not the things
which are Jesus Christ's.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith.
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
