"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto
God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:4, 6, 7
King James Version
We live in a world that is full of chaos. It seems like we just
get one problem solved and another one worse than the last one hits us. Our lives are filled
with crowded schedules and so many demands on our time that we find it difficult to read the
Bible or take time to talk to Jesus. Because the cost of living is so high, often both parents
have to work to pay the bills and put food on the table. Our cars break down which brings an
unexpected expense and once again we are faced with another crisis and we don't have the money
to fix the car. There are times when we become a little desperate and wonder if we will ever
have peace in our lives.
There are so many people having marital problems, people with broken hearts, financial
difficulties, and children who have become rebellious, disobedient and disrespectful to
everyone. How can we ever find peace in the midst of all this chaos? There is only one
solution to this escalating problem of chaos, and His name is Jesus! He is the only one
who can bring peace, a lasting peace, in this world of confusion. When we are burdened
with what seems to be a situation that is impossible to fix or conquer, it is then that
we need to cry out to Jesus for help.
It doesn't matter what chaos this world is in or how many deadlines we have, Jesus
can bring peace to any situation and to our hearts if we will but call upon Him and
then get out of the way and allow Him to fix it. So often we are guilty of asking
Him for help but as soon as we say "Amen" we start worrying about the situation again
and try to find a solution. Jesus not only brings peace to our heart and to our
circumstances; He is our peace. What a privilege to not only be Loved by the Saviour
of the world, but to have this lasting peace in our hearts. If you have confusion and
turmoil in your heart, give it to Jesus and let His peace fill your heart.
