Has God called all of us to be teachers? To be ministers?
Prophets? Or poets? Plain and simple no.
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:4
If He did, would we have need of anyone else's ministry? He created us unique in our gifts
and talents to be used to edify and teach others. A blessing…
(Read 1 Corinthians 12)
We are all called however to spread the Good News. This is done in many ways.
Books, television, the Internet, street corners, and knocking on doors are just a
few.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the
gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15
If something is beyond your level of understanding, if a ministry is spreading
the Good News in a unique forum, if something seems to not be the 'status-quo'
in our minds, who are we to judge? Is not God our judge? If the ministry is
founded on false pretenses or pride and greed have taken front stage - would
it still be there? Would it still reap a harvest for His kingdom? Would it
still bless others?
Some will pass judgment without knowing all the facts. Blinded by their own
mind-set, they assume many things.
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord
come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and
will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every
man have praise of God.
1 Corinthians 4:5
There is a wonderful place nestled in the Ozarks, where a seven-story statue
of Christ overlooks a quaint town, that is the home of an outdoor amphitheater
where a presentation of the Great Passion Play is performed. It is surrounded
by a complex of biblical museums, art, and a learning experience of Old and New
Testament times. This is a place for people to expand their knowledge, to reach
out to the lost, and to lift up those who visit. Some would say it is 'turning
Jesus into a theme park'. A theme park? No. A ministry that glorifies God?
Yes! This is an example of just one unique ministry that has been a blessing
to the 7 million people from all over the world who have visited this place
in the last 35 years.
There are many different ministries around the world that use the gifts
and talents of those who have been called. Whether it is writing, acting,
singing, teaching, or even weight lifting, God calls upon His people to use
what they have been given to teach, to bless, and to reach the lost.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the
gospel to every creature.
