You know, I was a young man in the Roman Catholic Church, who had a burning desire to serve God.
When my brother invited me to visit the Church of God 7th day, that desire was even more
burning, since I got to understand why Jesus died to save a Gentile Dog like me.
I began going to church with my brother, but shortly afterwards, I joined the Royal
St. Lucia Police Force.(Funny how Satan works). At that time, I had no time for God or
anything that is religious. I stopped praying and got involved with a young girl, who
already had a daughter.
I soon began to give her "horrors", in that I would come home
late and start hanging out with friends. I also began to follow the Rastafari faith in
Haile Sellasie and began worshipping him as God and King. Because of my love for reggae
music, that wasn't difficult to do. I soon began hanging out with Rastafarians, and though
I was a police officer, I began to smoke marijuana. I though that marijuana was good for
meditation, but was I wrong..was I wrong?
The problems accumulated and by that time I
had a daughter with the girlfriend. I began to cheat, since I was always at a dance,
and she would never go there. I got married to her, thinking that that was what she
wanted. A year after marriage, she bore me a son, but the problems continued. Finally,
I remembered the desire I had in the beginning for Christ, and began to pray. I would
not call any name, but Father. One day, I heard a voice telling me that I know it all.
I was missing one thing though and that was "right baptism". I now began to search for
it.
One day while patrolling, I heard some people praying, and the Spirit troubled me
to go in. I went and met with a deacon in that church whom I spoke to. He told me about
the right baptism. A couple of months later, I got baptised. The date was 28th of July,
2005. I remembered how I cried like a baby when God washed away my sins. The problems
I had put my wife through, the lies and cheating, then I went home begging for her
forgiveness. She did forgive me. She also got baptised on the 19th of December, 2004.
As for me and my house, we will serve the one true God who created the heavens and the
earth. I have now transform my conscious reggae music into righteous reggae music.
I have released a three track gospel reggae cd in 2005, and now have completed a 14 track
gospel reggae cd. I still have not gotten all out of the studio, but praise God, I found
this chat room and now the people of God will pray for the work of God to be complete.
Thank God, who took me out of a world of sin and shame, I now live peacably with my wife
and three children. I am still a police officer, but I attend church every Sabbath,
as was Jesus's custom. Hallellujah! I am a happy camper in the Church of God 7th day.
