A Miracle of Love
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."
King James Version
One of the definitions in Webster’s Dictionary for miracle is “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs”. Our Heavenly Father is a loving compassionate Father and He loves us very much. He saw the terrible condition the world was in and His heart was moved with compassion for us. He knew that we needed a Saviour so He sent His beloved Son into the world to save us. Yes, an extraordinary event happened the day that He opened His heart of love and compassion to us and sent His only beloved Son to be crucified for us and pay the price for our sins.
The greatest miracle of love that there has ever been came from the heart of our Heavenly Father for you and for me the day that He sent His beloved Son into the world to die for us and save us from our sins. What amazing unconditional love! We read in the Bible "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16 KJV). Our Heavenly Father doesn’t just love us; He so loves us.
What kind of love is this? This is the unconditional love of a Father who loves us so much that He sent His beloved Son into the world to save us. Our precious Saviour was ridiculed, beaten, rejected, cursed, spat upon and crucified on a cross of horror and excruciating pain for us. Our families and our friends love us but no one loves us like our Heavenly Father and Jesus love us. They proved their love for us by the sacrifices they made for us.
I believe that for every day Jesus was away from His Father that it felt like a thousand years to Him. Thank God that He was obedient to His Father and fulfilled the mission that His Father had given Him. Are we fulfilling the missions that He has entrusted to us? What are we doing to prove how much we love our Heavenly Father and Jesus? Do they know that we love them by our words and by our actions? Are we making them happy or are we making them sad?
How much do you love Jesus and how much are you doing for Him? Remember, the level of our service to Jesus depends on our level of love for Him. Again, how much do you love Him and how much are you willing to give up for Him? He gave His life for us. How can we do less than give Him everything that we have? Thank You, Jesus, for dying for us. Thank You for paying the price for our sins so that we can be saved and live in Heaven with You for all eternity.
