We Are His Tools
"And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them."
Matthew 4:23-24

Just as a mechanic has different tools that he uses to fix cars, so our precious Saviour also has different tools that He uses to heal people. However, we must never forget that Jesus is the one who does the actual healing. Jesus is the great Physician. It is Jesus who heals us as He uses the tools of doctors and medicine. Jesus also heals us through kind and encouraging words and in other ways.
Our Scripture verses tell us that they took the sick people to Jesus and He healed them. Doctors can perform surgery on our hearts and prescribe medicine for our physical hearts. However, only Jesus can operate on the inside of our hearts and heal our sin infected hearts. Unless and until the blood of Jesus is applied to our hearts for the forgiveness of our sins, we are lost in our sins and on our way to hell for all eternity.
Has the cleansing atoning blood of our Saviour been applied to your heart for the forgiveness of your sins? Have you allowed our great Physician to operate on your heart and remove the bitterness, the resentment and the unforgiveness from your heart? Let Jesus operate on your heart and give you His blood transfusion which will save your life for all eternity.
